Sir Winston Spencer Churchill, 1874-1965 War Correspondent In 1899 the war between Britian and the Afrikaners broke out in South Africa. Churchill went to S. Africa as a war correspondent to cover the Second Boer War. He was captured and held in POW camp in Pretoria. His actions during the ambush led to speculation that he would be awarded the Victoria Cross. Size: 20cm x 16.3cm
